On raconte que son maître Xanthos, lui ayant donné l’ordre d’acheter au marché ce qu’il y aurait de meilleur, Ésope n’acheta que des langues sous prétexte qu’il n’y a rien de meilleur que la langue, lien de la vie civile, clef des sciences, organe de la vérité et de la raison, de la prière etc.

Pour l’embarrasser, Xanthos lui commanda le lendemain d’acheter ce qu’il y a de pire. Le lendemain, Ésope ne fit servir que des langues, disant que la pire chose qui soit au monde c’est la langue, mère de toutes les disputes, source des divisions et desguerres, organe de l’erreur et de la calomnie, du blasphème et de l’impiété.

The proud President Obama accepted the plaque and then departed in his motorcade to a fundraiser, waving to the crowds.
A news reporter later asked the group of chiefs how they came to select the new name they had given to the President.
They explained that "Walking Eagle" is the name given to a bird so full of shit it can no longer fly.
